--以19大报告翻译为例

外交部外语专家，中国翻译协会副会长。曾任：外交部翻译室主任，中国驻新西兰、库克群岛、瑞典大使。80年代为邓小平等领导人任口译。近年担任党的18大、19大报告英文定稿，总理政府工作报告英文定稿，参加习近平治国理政一卷英文定稿，习近平五年多来主要对外演讲英文定稿。
讲座介绍：
演讲者通过参加19大报告英文翻译定稿的经历，介绍在翻译中国政治理念时如何克服中西方文化之间的不同，准确而又地道翻译关键表达，消除文化沟通障碍。有助于帮助同学增加对于这一领域翻译的兴趣，并提高翻译能力。
Abstract:
Conveying China’s political vision to the international community could be a challenging undertaking given the differences between Chinese and Western cultures. The speaker, based on his involvement in finalizing the English translation of the Report to the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China, shares his experience of tackling difficulties encountered in the course of translation with vivid examples. By doing so, he hopes to help bridge the cultural divide between East and West.
About the speaker:
Mr. Chen Mingming is currently a senior communication advisor to the Chinese Foreign Ministry and vice president of China Association of Translators. He was former Chinese ambassador to New Zealand, the Cook Islands, and Sweden. He started his diplomatic career as an interpreter and translator and did interpretation for senior Chinese leaders like Deng Xiaoping in the 1980s. He has been involved in recent years in translating into English the government’s work report, Party documents and Xi Jinping’s speeches on domestic and international affairs.
